The reimagined
This painting is a visual dialogue between memory and movement, between the places that shape us and
the ones we carry within. It presents two contrasting yet interconnected landscapes—the night sky over
Skardu, Pakistan and the illuminated atmosphere of Taif Saudia arabia—each representing a different
chapter of my journey.
The mountains of skardu stand tall,, where the vast, starlit sky evokes a sense of nostalgia and belonging. In
contrast, the golden-lit structures and pathways reflect the warmth and vibrancy of Taif. The juxtaposition
of these spaces explores the fluid nature of identity—how we exist between past and present, between
rootedness and transformation.
By layering elements of both locations, the painting becomes a fragmented yet cohesive reflection of
migration, adaptation, and memory. The darkness of the sky and the glow of human presence suggest that
while landscapes may change, the essence of home is something we recreate wherever we go.
Through “Roots & Routes,” I invite the viewer to reflect on their own journeys—what we leave behind, what
we preserve, and how we weave together different worlds into the fabric of our identity.
